its already midterm time .. well next week it is... I am really loving my classes... I am actually getting 3D animation... I have been playing with 3DS a lot and things are looking a lot like what i wanted them to look like.. hey.. who woulda thunk it considering I was so stressed out while I was going through the intro class

observational drawing is pretty freakin awesome... I have done a piece that I really like.. I will scan it in sometime this week or next (not for sure this weekend cause my cousins are here visiting YAY)... in my fundamentals of editing the current assignment is to take the (most random) clips he had and make a music video... seriously though.. the clips are so random! like airport scenes... people walking.. little pieces from "The Great Train Robbery"... some really old film of Hollywood from the 50s or something... some clip of the a grand canyon type thing... and this really weird space movie ... thats not all either... i just cant think of the others... Ok with that said... we have to put together a music video (1min 30sec long)... any song of our choice... in final cut pro.. a program of which I have no idea how to use... and the teacher really doesnt seem to "teach" us anything.. he gave us the clips.. told us what buttons do what in the UI and lets us go and do what we needed to do... ok.. now i have a huge problem with that...

my camera and lighting class is pretty sweet... same instructor as my animation class... I love the way that guy teaches... too cool... ok... and last is my critical thinking class... thats my only GE class of the quarter... the class is very cool... just a whole lot of work lots of reading .. which doesnt bother me.. its just that the subject is written like a math book... if statement A = statement B than statement B = statement A... and so on and so on... all these fun rules for testing arguments to see if they are valid, strong, false, weak.... all that good stuff...

all in all though... im a really enjoying school... for the first time ever. I hope graduation is still on for March of 08... thats my estimate... not the academic directors... so i dont even know if that is right... graduation might be held on the Strip when I graduate instead of the pavillion here under the big white tent... They are gonna do it at Fashion Show Mall... its right across from the Wynn and Treasure Island i think... our work will be up on the plasmas for our protfolio review (before graduation)... and then as we do the whole ceremony our pieces will still be on the screens... geez the amount of potential employers seeing our stuff has just grown a lot... im glad they wont have it in some closed place that people have to go into to find the portfolios... this could be really good for us. We will see though... this is still the first quarter they are gonna do it so they could change it by the time my graduation comes

summer quarter has begun... 3d animation(3D studio), lighting and something (in 3D studio), fundamentals of editing(Final Cut Pro), observational drawing, and critical thinking... so far I am really liking all of my classes... I havent taken the ligting class though.. thats tomorrow... grr a Sat. class

3d modeling, 2d Animation, conceptual storytelling, english and digital illustration... this should be a pretty fun quarter... lots of work though... I can tell already and I have only been to my monday and Tuesday classes...

only a few more finals to go until the end of the quarter! yay

1 tomorrow and then 2 on friday... and the ones on friday are 2 crits (one in each classe) and in one of my classes I have a written final on photoshop stuff (clipping masks, various keyboard shortcuts.. things like that) .. I just cant wait to get this quarter over with

I am so stressed... my finals are in two weeks... but all next week is sort of like a workshop or something... its crazy... so much to do! .. the only ones I really have to work a lot on are my major classes.. not my math one

[] 36 storyboards full color (I will probably do them in Photoshop).. 4 x 6, mounted and presented on Tues the 21st ... plus an animatic for extra credit with the same panels, music and correct timing
